What can I expect?

As our guest, we want you to feel welcome and at home. If there is any way we can help you or make you comfortable, please let us know.

Typically, you’ll meet an usher or greeter at the door. These people will let you know where things are, provide a program for the morning’s service, and help you find a seat.

At the beginning of the service, we usually ask first-time guests to fill out a Welcome Card, which asks for your name, mailing address, and some demographic information (e.g., age-range, how you heard of us, etc.). You can also indicate things you’d like more information on, or you can jot a prayer request. We don’t publish this information, but you will receive a follow-up letter within the week after you’re here.

We want you to feel comfortable participating in our services, while balancing corporate worship with individual worship expressions. If there is something specific we'd like you to do, we'll let you know. Otherwise you can relax.

We like to sing, but that may not be your favorite thing to do, so don’t feel like you have to. We tend to read Scripture aloud: as a group in unison, or responsively (alternating with a worship leader or reader).

You’ll also hear a 15-20 minute (sometimes it runs a little longer) message/talk on a topic or some verses in the Bible (we do have very comfortable, padded seats).

We collect an offering during our services, but this is only for members and regular attenders who have made FBC their church home. As our guest, please do not feel obligated to give anything. We don’t expect it, and would rather you save your funds to give to your own church.

After the service, you can enjoy a cup of coffee, or review the displays and information in the lobby and front hallway for opportunities you might be interested in. If you come to our 8:00 AM service, you’re more than welcome to join us in the Sanctuary for the Adult Sunday School class at 9:30 AM (topics and discussions vary).
